Thursday 10th March – bike **** – Around Felixstowe including lunch at Trimley – sunny and mild.

Walk *** - sunrise prom walk :)

Mag was up early so was off for a walk along the prom and for the first time in ages I decided to join her, leaving home at 6.15 in time to see the sunrise:) Reaching the cliff top at the end of our road there was hardly a cloud in the sky which means a pretty boring sunrise. With the breeze SE, onshore it was a bit choppy as we set off towards the Spa theatre as the sun just appeared on the horizon and was soon a big red ball:) I got a few pics including nice ones of a pigeon sitting on the rock groynes watching it rise. Then up onto the cliff top and home to sort out my pics, sending some to the local TV weather.

Bike ****

Then a top morning at home and for the second morning running I did my exercises in the back garden, spring is definitely in the air now! I then made a yummy cheese and ham sandwich and then decided where we were going to eat it? On a perfect day for cycling, we left home around 12.30 heading for the bench at the top of the lane leading down to Loompit Lake at Trimley St. Mary. As usual we try to avoid as many roads as possible so take the footpath by the cemetery, around the Academy school full of bloom eventually leading to our favourite tree lined track with the sky the deepest blue which is my favourite colour! Nice and quiet too with just a few dog walkers, a farmer ploughing but sadly no deer today but the fish were back in the little pond:). We have a relaxing picnic with great views across rolling countryside with the River Orwell down to the left. Well rested we head back, over the huge footbridge over the railway line and onto Candlet Lane. On Gulpher Road I carry on all the way to the sea while Mag turns off and heads for home. I watch a yacht sail by and head up the Deben before carrying on, spotting windsurfing mate once again flying his model glider in the ideal onshore breeze. Down to the prom at The Fludgers with the sea sparkling in the sunshine. I take a few pics on the peir before biking up the hill and home. Cuppa and cake time and discover O had a pic in yesterdays Star and was 1st place in the Lets Talk readers pics page, its been a top week for my pics. I was also picked as Editor’s Choice on the BBC weather but I bet they don’t pick my pick to us on the telly tonight!
There are a few days of wind coming but the tides are not ideal and with some rain but will still head over to Levington and see how I get on. SE tomorrow which is really good on the Orwell!
